I don't know about you, but I absolutely LOVE Pinterest! I believe it is because I am a visual person and I think and remember in pictures. Since discovering Pinterest, I have not added a single item to my internet favorites, instead I pin them. I don't always immediately look at everything I pin, so I try to take time every now and then to just go back and review some of my boards. So today that was part of my afternoon and now I have a to do list for this week - Pinterest style. Here is my pinspiration and a few things I will be working on this week as I get ready for school to start.
1. Instant Dry Erase Marker Erasers
This is my kind of project - quick, easy and inexpensive. All you need is dry erase markers, pom poms, and hot glue. I think I have all of these things already so I should be good to go! Just hot glue a pom pom to the cap of the dry erase marker and tah dah - instant eraser! Hasn't been kid tested yet, but in theory I love the idea and will definitely give this a try. I sure wish I knew who the genius was that came up with this! The pin I found only led me back to the blogger home page so I have no idea who to thank. If you know, please leave me a comment so I can give credit where it is due.
If you have spent any time on Pinterest in the last few months you have probably seen these super cute organization drawers. This is going to be perfect for me as I have finally mustered up enough courage to get rid of my teacher desk this year. Moving from third grade to kindergarten, I feel that the classroom space will better be used for my kiddos. That being said, I like having "my space" and am a little nervous sharing that space with my teaching table. If you know me, you know that I am a stacker and organization will not only be key, it will be necessary for this to be successful. This is my answer for all those little supplies that abound in my classroom. Can't wait to show you my finished product! A big thank you to Linda at Down the Learning Road for this inspiration!
2. Teacher Desk Alternative
3. Cutsy Clothespins
These are just the best! I have to say that during the school year I don't think twice about grabbing my stapler and hanging things on the wall or in the hallway. BUT I hate that time at the end of the year when I spend what seems like hours taking staples out of the wall. My classroom next year has cork board strips outside in the hallway to hang student work on. I think these would be just perfect. Not only no staples, but super easy to change out papers and projects. I will definitely be making a class set of these - plus some! A big thank you to KraftyDesign for this pinspiration. If you don't want to make your own check out KraftyDesign on etsy. I checked out her etsy store and this item was no longer available, but I know there is a link to contact the seller.
